Throw yourself at something
We must fight the inertia. Against all odds.
Risk looking foolish. Risk being rejected. Risk everything.
On days I don’t have the same motivation (which is perfectly fine and perfectly human), something that kicks me back into gear is the fact that we have a finite time on earth.
We don’t get to decide its conclusion. It can happen at any day, any time, any moment. It can happen when we least expect it.
This reminds me that putting things off in the far future is just not an option. Planning is good, but constantly delaying the things we said we want to do, with no line of sight into even a general when or how, or any sort of small next step, is costing us our lives, little by little.
The price we pay is every tick of our time, every grain of sand in our life’s hourglass. End will come whether we want it or not.
We must fight the inertia. Against all odds. Against all pressures. And despite what we have or don’t have, despite our current circumstances.
Life is not measured in years. It’s measured by the intensity and passion and love we poured into something, regardless of what that something is.
What’s important is we chose it, we dedicated ourselves to it, and we give it our best shot with what we have, in the way we know how.
