Give to yourself

Fill your cup. Do it for you.

You need to take a moment to fill your cup. And do it for no one else but for yourself.

The world demands so much of you: endless chores, tasks, obligations, responsibilities. Those matter too. But you can’t give the best version of you to the people who need you if you don’t have anything left for yourself.

We say “treat yourself” and “self-care day” like they’re things that need to be rare and done on special occasions. We need to rewire this idea that giving to ourselves is something that needs to happen once in a while or only by spending on or doing extravagant things.

It starts with small simple things every single day to fill our souls.

A deep breathe with eyes closed, a cup of coffee in silence, a book to get lost in, a silent prayer, a daily stretch, a journal entry for no one else to read. Things that cost nothing, but are priceless when it comes our spiritual nourishment.

Do it for you. Then thank yourself for this small gift you gave yourself.
